If You've Said "I Burned Money on Ads": Check These 5 Leaks
We hear that sentence in first calls all the time. When we audit the accounts, the problem is almost never "Google Ads doesn't work"; it is one or more of the same five leaks. You can check your own account too:
1No conversion tracking in place
If the account is not tracking forms, calls, and sales, nobody knows which keyword actually makes money. Optimization becomes guesswork, and guesswork spreads your budget at random. Our first job is always to set up measurement.
2Broad match plus an empty negative keyword list
A retailer running broad match ads on "shoes" also pays for the search "how to remove shoe polish stains". With an empty negative list, a serious share of the budget goes to searches that have nothing to do with the business. We close this leak with a weekly search terms report review.
3Ads running outside the service area
A dental clinic in Brooklyn advertising across the entire country pays for every click from Seattle, and that money is gone. We set location targeting at district and radius level, and we know the difference between the "presence" and "interest" location settings.
4Ad and landing page do not match
A user who clicks an "implant cost" ad and lands on the homepage cannot find what they searched for, so they leave. Google punishes this through Quality Score: you pay more per click than your competitor for the same keyword. We map the right landing page to each ad group, and build the page ourselves if needed.
5The account is left on "Smart campaigns"
Smart campaigns make setup easy but take away your control over search terms and placements. Ads appear to be running, yet you cannot see what you are actually paying for. We move the account to a standard campaign structure and take back control.
If you already have an account: before taking over management, we audit your account free of charge and show you in writing which of these five leaks apply to you. We set your results expectations together based on that picture; we do not make promises out of thin air.
Which Campaign Type Fits Which Business?
Not every campaign type suits every business. Starting with the wrong type means moving the right budget to the wrong place. Before setup begins, we fill in this table together for your business:
Search
First choice for service and local businessesThe user types their need themselves: "emergency locksmith", "implant cost". It is the channel with the highest intent and the lowest waste.
Performance Max
Scaling accounts with accumulated conversion dataOne campaign reaches all of Google's networks (excluding Shopping in Turkey). Without data it spends blindly, which is why we never set it up as the first campaign.
Shopping
E-commerce stores selling internationallyImportant caveat: due to a Turkish Competition Authority ruling, Shopping ads have not been shown on search results in Turkey since 2026. If someone is trying to sell you this campaign for domestic Turkish sales, question it. For stores targeting export markets, we use it effectively.
YouTube (Video)
Brand awareness and remarketingIt is a recall channel; the sale is usually closed by the search campaign. Showing up again on video to people who visited your site lifts the search campaign's conversion rate.
Display
We recommend it only for remarketingDisplay to cold audiences on a small-business budget usually produces impressions, not customers. Showing the product again to a cart abandoner, however, is cheap and effective.
The First 90 Days: What Should You Expect, and When?
Google Ads is an auction, and its algorithm learns from data. That is why an honest roadmap has three stages:
Month 1: Measurement and Foundation
Conversion tracking (forms, phone calls, WhatsApp clicks), GA4 connection, campaign structure, and a core negative keyword list. This is the data collection month; profit comes in the following months, and we say so upfront.
Month 2: Pruning and Optimization
Closing leaks based on search terms reports, pausing underperforming keywords and ads, adjusting the bid strategy to the data, and running ad copy tests.
Month 3 and Beyond: Scaling
Budget increases on winning campaigns, new keyword groups, a remarketing layer, and a move to Performance Max if warranted. The monthly report talks about three numbers: clicks, leads, and cost per lead.
Why Have an SEO Agency Run Your Ads?
Because the price of a click is set not only by your bid but by your page. When Google calculates ad Quality Score, it looks at the landing page experience: an irrelevant, slow, or broken-on-mobile page means paying more per click than your competitor for the same keyword.
We manage both ends of the job: the team that builds the ads is also the team that, when needed, speeds up the landing page and grows the organic side with SEO. In the long run, the cheapest click is the one you never pay for: ads bring in clients today while SEO builds lasting visibility on the same keyword.
If you want to pair search ads with discovery-driven social advertising, take a look at our Meta Ads service: Google "catches the searcher", Meta "finds the person who isn't searching yet"; the two complete each other.

How much ad budget should I set aside for Google Ads?
It varies by industry and location, but to collect meaningful data we recommend starting at $15-20/day. A smaller budget will run ads, yet it will not produce enough data to make decisions, and the learning phase drags on. In competitive industries (healthcare, legal, moving services) click costs are high; in the first call we look at the real click costs for your keywords together.
When do Google Ads results come in?
Ads go live on day one and the first clicks arrive the same day. But a profitable account is a 90-day process: month one is measurement and data collection, month two is closing the leaks, month three is scaling. Be skeptical of any offer that guarantees profit from day one; the system is an auction, and any promise made without data is a guess.
Do Google Shopping ads work in Turkey?
Due to a Turkish Competition Authority ruling, Shopping ads have not been shown on search results pages in Turkey since 2026. The alternative setup for domestic Turkish e-commerce: Search campaigns plus Performance Max plus remarketing. If you sell internationally (cross-border e-commerce), we actively run Shopping ads in your target countries.
Why is conversion tracking so important?
Because Google Ads' bidding algorithm learns from conversion data. Without tracking, you cannot tell which keyword brings in clients, and Google cannot tell what to optimize for. That is why measurement is the first line item in our setup package: form submissions, phone calls, and WhatsApp clicks are each tracked separately.
Is there a contract term, or can I leave whenever I want?
We do not impose long-term contracts; management continues month to month. Our one honest warning: an account abandoned before 90 days has usually paid for the most expensive learning period without seeing the payoff period. The account always belongs to you; if you leave, every campaign and all the data stays with you.
Who pays the ad budget, and is it included in the management fee?
The ad budget is not included in the management fee; you pay Google directly with your own card. That keeps things transparent and lets you see where the budget goes in your dashboard at any time. Our fee is fixed: setup $169, monthly management $269. When your budget grows, our fee does not.
